How do you use Blue Jello vocabulary in 3/8 and 6/8 time?

Hi Michiko - 3/8 or 6/8 time: How do you say blue jello rhythms for music in these meters? or you just count? Patty Ladpli (ladpli@gmail.com) Hi Patty - To be honest, I couldn't think of how to use the blue jello vocabulary in 3/8 and 6/8 time. Then in a Unit 1 course in June 2008 one of the teachers had an excellent suggestion. Her idea was to say "blue . . lo" for the quarter eighth rhythm and "jel-lo lo jel-lo lo" for six eighth notes beamed together in 3's. It's nicely flowing and works beautifully in those meters. I like it better than "blue . . o" or "jel-lo o jel-lo o" since say "o" has a feeling of stopping when speaking. I've tried it all year and everyone loves it. I've included the rhythms in the newly revised (June 2009) blue jello word cards and the soon-to-be released rhythm bingo cards. Please try it and let me know how it works for you. michiko
