Do re mi in the bathroom
This email is from a mother in my program. John is in several of the videos on my site and proudly told me in lesson last week, "I'm five and a half now." Here's a photo of what John wrote with the do re mi cards while he was waiting for his lesson. Can you guess his tune?

Hi Michiko,
I wanted to let you know how much my John loves the new do re mi cards and how quickly he has taken to Solfege singing. He is so excited to have his own set that they are consistently his first choice for our daily MMG time. He loves playing Danish Zoo so much that he taught the game to his grandfather. He also is enjoying spelling out some of his early pieces, like “Mary Had a Little Lamb” with the cards. Since all the kids had such a great time last week in class singing the patterns from the newly revised melodic bingo cards, we have created our own version with which to practice at home. I draw a quick staff on the bathroom mirror with a dry-erase marker and fill in a simple melody. It’s a new twist to singing in the shower. The novelty of having a new pattern each day has him practicing singing each time he enters the room. (If you suggest to anyone, tell them to wipe toward the center of the mirror to avoid having permanent marker stains on your walls!) Perhaps the best side benefit is how well he sings on key – definitely not an inherited trait in our family!
Thank you for continuing to inspire us all, Janine
