Do re mi cards make it easy for children to show their abilities

Hello Michiko - I have a Kodaly MM and I've studied a couple of summers in Hungary. I love the Kodaly system but Kodaly people aren't really into manufacturing materials so it's great to have your materials and the videos online. I've written a couple of piano texts so I have some idea of what it took to create your program. Nice job! 

I teach on the rug and the staff doesn't lay flat and the break in the staff seems to be where the kids want to use the marker most. It's hard on the rug. Maybe I'll re-laminate it without the break... 

I teach singing (individual lessons) to a lot of very young students. I gave the do re mi cards to a student while he was waiting for his brother's lesson. When I came out he had placed the cards in rows to form "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and could sing it in Solfa. He was very proud!

"I know what you mean about the staff slates in the Puppy Packet. It was our only option to have it fit in the carry box with the other materials. But, try opening the folds that way I suggested. It will lie very flat after that. The new Panda 1 Pack has staff slates that are not cut and lie flat all the time. Check them out. I love your story about your student’s brother. Wow!
