About the Videos

Videos provide a wonderful chance to see MMG in action. Now it is possible to see the reactions of students, how they learn and how lively they are while they are learning. You can view how Michiko directs the learning steps, sets the pace of the games and how she handles various teching situations. All videos are from her private studio or workshops and range in length from 20 seconds to 4 minutes. Clicking the links will take you to the YouTube site, where you can view the video.

Michiko,
The videos on YOUTUBE are GREAT!!!! Just so you know, I sent the site to all my fellow teachers at the university and some other teachers that I have discussed MMG with who have been interested but haven't had the time to sit down with me to play some games. This way they can see a few games and have an idea and want to learn more! Hope all is well! Elizabeth

Videos are grouped by subject. Simply click on the index at the right to take you to the areas that interest you. Most of our videos show games in progress, rather than a complete explanation of how to play the games, but full games will be added soon. Videos marked *a how to play video* contain narration and will teach you how to play a complete game.

Videos are labeled either as a "teaching game" or a "memory game". This is a new differentiation since the Music Mind Games book was published. In teaching games, the teacher is involved and new concepts are taught or reviewed. In memory games the teacher is less involved, or not at all, thus giving students the chance to enjoy independent play while they sharpen their memories. The page number of a corresponding game from the book is included with each video listing. Please note that some of the games in the videos are adaptations of the original games in the book. It's also true that the original games themselves may have changed over the years. If a game is new and not found in the book, it is labeled "new game".

Easy to subscribe The YouTube site allows you to subscribe so you can be notified when a new Music Mind Games video is added.
